Furniture procurement

Procurement and Payment Services (PPS) has a limited central budget for:

  • the purchase of basic office furniture (desk and chairs) for new posts
  • repairs to existing furniture.

Preferred vendors

For furniture purchased using departmental or research funding, please use the preferred vendors identified by UCT. These preferred vendors are usually the manufacturers with whom PPS has specified quality standards to ensure that the university and the department receive best value for money.

Applying for furniture from the central budget

Email John Pretorius with the following information:

  • your department
  • the new post and the name of the person for whom furniture is being ordered
  • a basic list of furniture required
  • the date the furniture is required.
